Introduction
Among all building construction materials, Bamboo is probably the most sustainable. It is a carbon positive material with negative embodied energy, rapidly renewable material with growth three times as fast as most species of plants, non-toxic, natural and biodegradable and from the construction perspective, a material with high tensile strength, low weight and extremely versatile for design.
With all these advantages, bamboo is the material of the future!
This workshop is a Level I of workshops on Bamboo. Level II will include advanced construction techniques as well as use of digital tools and parametric design.
